About the authors

Helen Christensen

Professor Helen Christensen is the Director of the Centre for Mental Health Research, at the Australian National University. Her research interests concern the prevention of depression and anxiety disorders, the use of Internet and other technologies for health promotion and prevention, and the design and evaluation of health systems. She has over 250 research publications and is listed in the top 1 per cent in the field of psychiatry/psychology internationally.

Kathleen Griffiths

Professor Kathleen Griffiths is co-Deputy Director of the Centre for Mental Health Research, Australian National University and Director of the Depression & Anxiety Consumer Research Unit. Her research focuses on the use of the Internet as a self-help tool for improving mental health, developing programmes for reducing the stigma associated with depression and understanding the information needs and mental health research priorities of consumers.
