Loretta Barnard
Loretta Barnard is a freelance writer, publishing project manager, and editor. She is the author of 30 Australian Sports Legends (Random House, 2008), co-author of the compilation Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! A Great Big Book of Aussie Legends, Icons and Animals (Random House, 2009), and editor of the critically acclaimed Jottings of a Jazzman: Selected Writings of Len Barnard, which she self-published in 2010. She has been a contributing writer and editor to a huge number of reference books including Historica (ABC Books, 2006), Home: New Directions in World Architecture (2006), Historica's Women (2007), Scientifica (2009), Maritimea (2009), and Musica (2010, all Millennium House), and has done ghost writing for people who will remain nameless.
She has a Master of Arts in English Literature from the University of New South Wales, and although she specialises in non-fiction, Loretta has also worked on poetry books and fiction - for both adults and children. For many years, she was a manuscript assessor for a major educational and vocational publisher.
Loretta is currently working with her father, Australian jazz legend Bob Barnard, on his pictorial memoir.
