BLACKLANDS Wins Gold Dagger
by Random House Australia on 12 October 2010
“It was a thrill just to be shortlisted for the CWA Gold Dagger for my first novel, let alone to win. BLACKLANDS is a small, simple book and I’m still stunned and delighted that it seems to have struck a chord with so many people.” Belinda said.
The Gold Dagger is the CWA Dagger Awards’s highest honour. The last author to win with a debut novel was in 1973.
The judges described Belinda Bauer's BLACKLANDS as “A Dysfunctional family, emotional turmoil, adolescent angst and a psychopathic paedophile in a riveting psychological suspense debut that demands a one-sitting read.”
BLACKLANDS is a chilling psychological thriller about a twelve-year-old boy’s dangerous cat-and-mouse game with a bored serial killer.
