PM’s Literary Awards Shortlist
by Random House Australia on 16 July 2010
J.M. Coetzee's SUMMERTIME, Deborah Forster's THE BOOK OF EMMETT and David Malouf's RANSOM have been shortlisted in the fiction category and Bill Condon’s CONFESSIONS OF A LIAR, THIEF AND FAILED SEX GOD has been shortlisted for the young-adult fiction category.
The Prime Minister's Literary Awards celebrate the contribution of Australian literature to the nation's cultural and intellectual life. The awards, held annually, recognise literature's importance to our national identity, community and economy.
This is the third year of the prizes but the first time children's fiction and young-adult fiction have been added to the original fiction and non-fiction categories. The winner of each receives $100,000, announced later this year.
