TRASH to Be Turned Into a Movie
by Random House Australia on 6 April 2011
The inspiring children’s novel, TRASH, written by Andy Mulligan is set to be adapted into feature film.
TRASH follows the story of three dumpsite boys, who spend their days wading through trash for a living. One day, the boys stumble onto a surprise discovery that set them on a breathtaking adventure against corruption and authority.
The screenplay will be written by Richard Curtis, one of Britain’s most successful screenwriters, having written award-winning original screenplays such as FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL and NOTTING HILL.
Andy Mulligan says: “As far as I'm concerned this is the dream-team, and what has really impressed me is their desire to tell the story as it is, without coating it in sugar. They 'get' the book, and you can't ask for more than that.”
Trash has already been translated into 16 other languages.
