Synopsis
Hugues Martin has worked for the world’s most prestigious hotels, so when he takes over a small, tired, run-down hotel in New York, everyone thinks he must be mad. But he transforms it into a beautiful boutique hotel of impeccable elegance – the Hotel Vendôme –run with the efficiency he learnt through his hotelier schooling in Europe: precision and attention to detail. But Hugues’ hardworking drive soon becomes too boring for his wife, who leaves him for a rock Star, forcing Hugues to try to be both father and mother to their three-year-old daughter Heloise, whilst coping with the full-time job of running his hotel. And so the hotel and its staff become Heloise’s family – she has much more of a connection with the kind, generous female members of staff her father employs than she has ever had with her own mother. Hugues’ commitment to his work has heavily influenced his daughter, so he is delighted when she decides that she too wants to go to hotel school, and follow in her father’s footsteps. When she departs to Start her studying in Europe, Hugues is completely lost without her.Until a work venture brings a wonderful new woman into his life. For a father and daughter who have always relied solely on each other, will they ever be able to truly break the ties that have bound them for so long? Will Heloise ever be able to accept another woman in her father’s life? And how is Hugues supposed to choose between them?As life marches quickly on, the close-knit unit at Hotel Vendôme are forced to form new bonds, face the often bitter sweetness that life can bring, and work out the true meaning of love and family.

ReportI have read this and the last 10 titles from Danielle Steele. I have read most of her books. The early additions were exciting and i couldnt wait till the next one to be published. Unfortunately for me she has lost her touch. The last books were terrible. She tries to keep up with what is current events in the world as her theme but the writing is predictable and very thin on content consequently they are not worth reading any more. I suggest she gives up whilst ahead ......A---------

Reportyou are very clever publishers putting out a copy just before mothers day or xmas but she has certainly lost her skill. I even wonder if she has a ghost writer as i am sure with my limited skill as a writer i could follow her style and substance if i tried as the books are really about nothing of any consequence and i would rank them lower than the Mills and Boones era.... a very disappointed reader and wont go there anymore.... Merry Xmas
