ReportFun, charming and sometimes heartbreaking, I loved this book. There a little something in there for everyone and no wonder: this author has become a favourite to so many. Hope’s Road, the second book from author Maragareta Osborn, tells the story of three connecting properties and the people who live on them, who come together after an incident on one of the pieces of land. The three estates are called Montmorency Downs, Hunter Place, and McCauley’s Hill. While each of them has a proud history, they conceal the secrets of the families living there for years until the accident. The accident that threatens to reveal the secrets they hide for years as the families come together to help their neighbor in need Before this they were either estranged or strangers but one a person in trouble and things can change in heartbeat as hope starts to build that the secrets will come out and heal these families of the hurt and problems that have haunted them for years and maybe find love 5 couples Read my full review here :http://confessionsfromromaholics.com/blog-tour-review-hopes-run-by-margareta-osborn/

ReportIn Hope's Road, Margareta Osborn's second novel, she returns to the Victorian highlands and the rural community she knows so well. Vivid, authentic characterisation is becoming a hallmark of Osborn's writing. I feel as if her characters could easily walk right off the page and slot neatly into my local community. At it's core, Hope's Road is a contemporary romance but the storyline also touches on issues such as domestic violence, abandonment and elder care. The connection with family and the need to belong is a major theme illustrated by the relationship between Tamara and Joe, and Travis and his son. As rural fiction, the connection between the characters and the land also plays a vital role. Hope's Road is a fine example of contemporary rural fiction. It's no wonder the genre is enjoying a surge in popularity with such appealing characters and engaging stories capturing the readers imagination.

ReportI love reading some wonderful Australian fiction. The book has 3 wonderful vibrant characters, Tammy the owner of Montmorency Downs; her estranged uncle Joe, who hates all and everyone; and Travis, the local dog hunter and father of Billy, who is a 10 year old boy with a connection to all our characters. All these people are written so vividly and alive and are very likable in spite of, or because of, their flaws. It was a lovely romance with some excellent drama and saga thrown in. I know more about bloat (and how to cure it) then I actually want to but these scenes only helped to build the background and plot for the story. The book was well written and had a good rhythm. There was some plot lines that could have been taken further but overall the story was well paced and thought out. I discuss books regularly with a girlfriend and we have noticed that in that most typical romances the main love interest is a millionaire or someone with loads of money to help to save the day. But that is not the case in this story. It made the book so much more interesting as I struggled to see how Tammy was going to keep and do it all. The ending was quite sad....it left me with tears in my eyes. But it was beautiful and appropriate. If you love Australian Fiction, with little saga and romance thrown in, this book is for you. Highly Recommended.
